wake up and smell the shattered glass

this morning, in the teacher parking lot, the rear window of my cavalier was completely destroyed. no vengeful students are suspected. nothing was stolen - i guess they didn't want my johnny cash and explosions in the sky, or my ramen and rootbeer lunch. chalk it up to random acts of violence. it was really more annoying than traumatic. well, annoying and costly. i was in and out of the classroom getting it taken care of and then i spent about an hour and a half at a car wash/detail place after school getting the inside cleaned out and shard-free. jesus says, "love your enemies...bless those who curse you...pray for those who mistreat you." it's when things like this happen that one realizes how completely radical the teachings of christ really are.

Ry Pa-
Sir, this week is rough for vehicles in our circle of friends. You definitely win the prize, but I will say that Saturday night our Tahoe was hit with two condoms FULL of some unidentified substance looking like lotion or pudding. The door handle had been squirted and there was a "bomb" on top of the car and one on the ground toward the back. Nasty. Perhaps it was some sort of Texas-wide gang initiation of some sort? I feel for you bro. Oh yeah- and let's love our enemies all we want but not hesitate to drop a little police brutality on their butts before arresting them and hauling them off to the pokey.

wow ryan, i feel your pain, i guess. the other night i took four kids to the county jail to visit their mother and when we came out, i found a missing passenger side window with lots of shattered glass and a boulder sized rock on my front seat. why do people do these sorts of things? they didn't take anything. so we rode home with the brisk winter air, brrr, this is chicago you know. i'm glad to hear that your window is all fixed. hang in there.
