youth camper

i am tore down. this week is probably my last big job sanding floors with dave since he will soon be the new discipleship pastor with a vineyard church here. sore legs, sore abs, sore back... but the pay, my employer, and the free chipotle are all worth it. since it's looking like i'll be here through most of october, i'll probably be working more often with kevin at center city collision - payin' the billz, washin' the rides.

sunday i leave for a umc youth camp that aaron klinefelter is doing. junior high boys. look out. i'll have five in my cabin and be responsible for them and a "family group." i'll also be leading about 60 or so jr. high kids in a low key "worship in song" time. oh, aaaand we're going on a canoe trip and a high and low ropes course. should be fun.

i got to talk to pearce last night. joy.

has anyone seen the previews for the motorcycle diaries? it looks really good. also, the music is composed by the same guy who did the music for 21 grams...so good.

books lately...
into the wild - true story of the post-college wilderness pilgrimmage and eventual death of christopher mccandless.
baghdad express - gulf war memoir of a cynical philosophy-minded marine revervist.
reading...
hiroshima - individual accounts of 5 japanese civilians and one german jesuit the day of the bombing.
