tonight kenny, marissa and josie came over and we got take-out from thai express. the red curry chicken dish is mind blowing. i love it so much. thai food is quickly becoming one of my favorites.
then we sat down for a game of cranium. traditional. guys vs girls. we lost. but that's okay because i got a sweet autographed picture of R2-D2 from kenny. you wouldn't believe how realistic it looks. i wish i had a scanner so i could show everyone how amazing this R2-D2 is.
after that i decided to take a late night walk around the neighborhood and ended up finding people hanging out in steve and becky's backyard across the street from the convent/brownhouse courtyard. we talked around a fire pit out back and then moved inside for a while. steve has some unbelievably hilarious and entertaining stories. he told me one tonight about going to a 60-hour movie marathon (at this place that used to run classic movies here in cincinnati - i can't remember the name) in order to win a year long pass. anyways, he ended up getting called a "motherf%$#@!" by one of the midgets from the movie time bandits! crazy huh?
i leave you with...
secret of the easy yoke - pedro the lion
i could hear the church bells ringing
they pealed aloud your praise
the members faces were smiling
with their hands out stretched to shake
it's true they did not move me
my heart was hard and tired
their perfect fire annoyed me
i could not find you anywhere
could someone please tell me the story
of sinners ransomed from the fall
i still have never seen you
and some days i don't love you at all
the devoted were wearing bracelets
to remind them why they came
some concrete motivation
when the abstract could not do the same
but if all that's left is duty
i'm falling on my sword
at least then i would not serve
an unseen distant lord
if this is ony a test
i hope that i'm passing
cause i'm losing steam
and i still want to trust you
peace be still
