next adventure...

what's up y'all. thanks for the mass comments lately. no sarcasm here. i'm not bitter. really.

let's see...i just got back from a umc youth camp with junior high kids - 4 out of the 13 in my cabin had severe ADHD. some highlights...and lowlights

-finding a mouse in my dresser and watching the boys run around the cabin and kill it with a broom. so hilarious.
-canoe trip down the little miami river. it was supposed to be 3 miles long. yeah, so uh, we missed our pull-out point so it turned into a 6 mile trip.
-breaking up several fights.
-jumping off the "pampers pole" - a 30 foot pole with a little platform i had to stand up on and jump about 8 feet from to a trapeze bar. so fun.
-watching my "family group" get to know, like, and hang out with one another of their own free will.
-big bonfire.
-standing watch over my boys until about 2 o'clock when they finally shut up and stayed in bed.
-junior high kids dancing and singing to 'undignified,' 'sing like the saved,' and 'those who trust.'
-hanging out with my co-counselor steve minor.
-camper vs. counselor dodgeball series. we lost but we were out numbered by like 6 to 1.

well, i'm gonna go spend a few days in north carolina with my dad so i won't be back until late tuesday. rock and roll. love and peace to you all...

you are gifted. i've seen it over the last two years that i've known you with the kids from our church, in my neighborhood, and now i see it all the time with the little ones in our community. i am convinced that you are going to continue to have significant opportunities in the future to be a great teacher, friend, and parent to some very blessed kids.
