God and the DJ

So Alex, Jake, Jay and I went to The Cavern tonight for the Unwed Sailor show. We're sitting upstairs, having a few drinks, waiting for my songs to play on the jukebox... This guy from Good Records, DJ CeePee starts setting up stuff to spin and my songs finally come on: Q-Tip - Wait Up, Air - Kelly Watch the Stars, and then the jukebox goes off and DJ CeePee starts his set. I was completely bummed.

The other night at Caves Lounge I never got to hear the two dollars worth of stuff I put on the jukebox. And we were there for like three hours. So...

After CeePee's introduction, get this, he plays my freaking song! Secret Machines - Alone, Jealous, and Stoned. I could NOT believe it. Of all the songs I could have picked in that jukebox and all the songs he could have picked on his iPod and the timing of it and everything... I mean, what are the chances?! I ran over to him and asked him in disbelief if he played that song because he knew what was next on the jukebox and he said no. So I told him what happened and he said, "As fate would have it..."

I felt like God was smiling at me. Revelation in the form of a jukebox and a DJ. It made my night.
