So I recently started listening to The Velvet Underground. Why has it taken me almost twenty-six years of life to discover this band?! They are brilliant. I bought their first album at Virgin. It feautures Nico and was produced by Andy Warhol.
Also, I recently watched The Squid & the Whale, written and directed by Noah Baumbach, who co-wrote The Life Aquatic... with Wes Anderson. I can't recommend it for everyone but I loved it. Set in Brooklyn in the '80s, it's a tragic but comedic look at two brothers coping with their parents' divorce. If you liked Rushmore or Igby Goes Down you should check it out.
