narnia

i just finished the voyage of the dawn treader today. i can't believe i hadn't read these sooner. i brought along two that i had not read yet and now i can't wait to get home and get the rest so i can finish them. three more to go. c.s. lewis is now officially my favorite author. ever. i finished out ...dawn treader while listening to the two explosions in the sky records. how perfect. i purchased the world is not... in ann arbor, michigan and those who tell the truth... in madison, wisconsin. what a great soundtrack for the chronicles of narnia. the two other albums i have purchased on this trip are pink moon - nick drake & yoshimi battles the pink robots - the flaming lips. i save per diems by eating cheaply and then i blow the rest in record stores. go figure. chi-town tomorrow night. and that concludes my time on the road with otr. it has been a joy. i fly home from the windy city on saturday to meet up with the family for christmas on the sea. if you think of it, pray for good traveling weather so i'm not marooned in chicago over the holidays. see ya when i see ya...

I am so sorry I didn't get to say goodbye on Thursday evening. But being a parent is what it is....Emma-Rose and I were very happy to get to see you. Come back as often as you can. We love you!

i read the whole series about this time last year (and i DO believe that i tried with all of my persuasive powers to get you to read them too... ah, well. better late than never!)
i just finished 'johnny got his gun' by dalton trumbo. its not refreshing and beautiful like lewis' fantastic stories... rather, its dark, disturbing, very thought provoking. when you finish the chronicles, you should check it out.
