Christ for president

Let's have Christ for president
Let us have him for our king
Cast your vote for the carpenter
that you call the Nazarene

The only way we can ever beat
these crooked politician men
Is to run the money changers out of the temple
And put the Carpenter in

O It's Jesus Christ our president
God above our king
With a job and a pension for young and old
We will make hallelujah ring

Every year we waste enough
to feed the ones who starve
We build our civilization up
and we shoot it down with wars

But with the Carpenter on the seat
away up in the capital town
The USA would be on the way prosperity bound!

i'm aware of the media's spin tactics but it doesn't stop with CBS or the New York Times...it feels just about impossible to find ANY un-biased non-bought media resources.

and i'm in no way saying that we should elect john kerry, i think he could have handled this whole situation much worse possibly.

i'm just saying that i question the validity of ANY war these days. it's just bothersome that we could turn a blind eye to Iraq's use of chemical weapons against Iran and Iraqi Kurds when it suited us; and then talk about how corrupt this guy Saddam Hussein is and how he killed Iraqis with chemical weapons and what a corrupt regime his is. and its true, it was, but i feel like we come across as such a hypocrite in the whole ordeal. if we're really concerned about "justice" and "freedom" and "ridding the world of evil-doers," why didn't we free the Iraqi Kurds who were being murdered in the 80s under Saddam's regime?

it just seems we don't learn our lesson. we support some guy temporarily to over throw the soviets in afghanistan and then he turns around and blows up the world trade towers. i just wonder who we're supporting now (or maybe not supporting, just turning a blind eye to) that's going to bite us in butt years down the road.

i just refuse to see any of this thing as black and white: we're good, they're bad. it's more complicated than that.

Everytime Bush opens his mouth and speaks positively about the war, I'm confident he is either clueless or spinning a lie. The whole war was a gigantic "oops". If Ronald Reagan were President, we would not be at war. Ron would have sent a few of our better boys (like Creth) over to snap Saddam's neck, but not before selecting his replacement. If and when it was traced back to Ron, he would've plead ignorance as a few of his closest advisors gladly took the fall for him. That's leadership and that's loyalty.

I think Kerry may have greater leadership qualities than George. However, I keep getting back to the judicial appointments he would make. A "left" leaning President could change the moral direction of our country forever. Many of these appointments to the bench are lifetime appointments.

I'm too often reminded that governmental officials have forgotten who they work for (us). If you've ever dealt with any city, county or state gov't workers, you'll quickly realize that the whole system is broken. Bush and Kerry are no different. When the camera is on, they try to look the part. However, they've forgotten who the customer is and who their boss is. So have local cops. One almost arrested me today. He was on a massive ego trip. I enjoyed pranking with him. I almost went to jail for having a house with "flaking paint" on the southwest corner. Right down the street was a well known crack house. I gladly pointed this out to the officer. He seemed unmoved.

I have a solution.

#1. At the federal level, strictly enforce and interpret the constitution. Don't make it say what it doesn't say. It does not address abortion, gay marriage, social welfare. Those topics should not be adjudicated or enforced by the federal gov't. Leave that to states and locals, if they so choose, through popular vote. Freedom of speech simply means you are free to talk. I has nothing to do with abortion, gun control, or anything else. Separation of church and state are not constitutional directives (communist manifesto). If Arkansas holds an election and want's to be known as a "Baptist State", then let it. If California wants to be known as a "Gay State", more power to them. Let states make their own rules that interpret the US Constitution.

#2. All of the wrong people are having all of the children. You've heard of the "marriage penalty" on taxes. I think we should have a "children penalty" on our income taxes. Raising children takes a whale of a lot more than love. It's a huge responsibility that takes discipline, money, time and education. Our gov't pays people to have kids. This is so stupid. WE should pay for the right. I think the Federal Gov't should make birth control mandatory by putting it in the drinking water. If a young married couple demonstrates all of the aforementioned requirements to the satisfaction of a locally elected board, then the wife should be given 6 months worth of antidote and be told to go and reproduce. Those that don't meet the requirements should find use in helping educate and raise the children of their community.

#3. At least 60% of the fed, state, & local gov't should go away. I don't think the average hard working productive member of society would be adversely affected by this. It would need to be phased in over time, but that should be the goal.

#4. I asked my daughter (10 yrs old) the other day who she would vote for. She said Bush. I told her she could vote for anybody she wanted to, even if they weren't running for office. To that, she mentioned two people. Ronald Reagan and Bob Henry. I think either would be an excellent choice.

Below are quotes from a recent interview between Georgie Bush and Charlie Gibson. I'm starting lean toward Bush again.

Good Morning America, October 26, 2004 ~

Charlie Gibson: Do we all worship the same God, Christian and Muslim?

George W. Bush: I think we do.

CG: Do Christians and non-Christians and Muslims go to heaven in your mind?

GWB: Yes, they do. We have different routes of getting there...

Ryan,
I'm thankful that there are people that really think things through before they make a decision...that research it and talk it out and are aware. And for that reason, it would be a real shame if you didn't vote. You say that you don't want to pick the lesser of two evils...but reality is...that's what you've got. And I admit, it would be nice if the candidates were more desirable...but there will never be a perfect person running for election. That's why our system is set up the way it is...checks, balances, etc. I know it's imperfect and corrupt, and I know there are times when it seems like more trouble than it's worth...but as long as humans are running for president they're going to be fallible, they're not perfect. So, I guess you just research it, pay attention and pray. But not making a decision is making a decision...and I promise you it's the wrong one. Ohio welcomes your vote, Ryan.
