what if our biggest problem in being "followers of Christ" is not so much that we are unwilling to follow Him, but that we think that we are? what if we have deluded ourselves into following "Christianity" or having "correct doctrine" and in all actuality are not really doing those things which Jesus taught and commanded us to do as His disciples? how many of us really bless those who curse us? how many of us really give to all who ask of us? how many of us would be willing to subject ourselves to further humiliation when struck in the face? how many of us seek the kingdom of God first? may we take a long hard look at what our Lord teaches and may He give us the grace to live it out.

"Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock.

"Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell--and great was its fall."

- Jesus Christ (matthew 7:24-27)
