yesterday i worked about 9 hours! refreshment was on the way though because afterwards we went to the over the rhine X-mas show. susan enan (from ireland) and pedro the lion were the openers. susan enan was a very laid back solo "folkie" (to borrow a term from sharon bell) with an acoustic guitar. i enjoyed it. then...pedro. rock. it was david bazan and t.w. walsh on drums. they had the bass on a track like at cornerstone. but it rocked. it was mostly stuff from it's hard to find a friend but he played a few new ones too, so that was cool.

then otr was up. i have to admit i was more pumped about ptl initially, but over the rhine blew me away. for real. especially "jack's valentine." rock and roll. it was great. and then, since our household tickets were from otr, we got backstage passes. sweet you'd think, right? backstage was not as glamorous as i pictured. it looked like someone's basement full of garage sale furniture and left over food. i mean, i'm not complaining at all...i just assumed backstage was a much cooler place than it actually turned out to be. but the concert was excellent and i thanked karin and linford for the free tickets. they're so nice! then we tried to find a food spot and failed several times, so we all went home and hung out in the living room.

today some of us went to the local elementary school to help out with a free holiday carnival put on by the big vineyard here for the kids in norwood. it was fun, i passed out candy and ran the bean bag toss. kids are pumped about candy. even if it's just some tootsie rolls or whatever.

cool, well, not much else planned for the weekend. maybe i'll take a nap. party.
