this is the godhead
made up of the deities
the people and the priests watch him in expectation
feeding him
obssessing over him
maybe today
maybe he will be appeased

the tension in the room
the sacrifices made
will it be enough?
will he be satisfied?

this god is a capricious god
sending rain or drought on a whim
yet the masses serve him
master and curse

today he is satisfied
today the priests and the people celebrate
he shines on them today
they are merry today
for he may not be so kind tomorrow
