yesterday i found a used copy of thursday's new cd, war all the time and picked it up for logan cause he wanted it. it's really good. smart, intense, melodic, innovative rock. track 4, "signals over the air" is especially sweet.

tonight my friend jimmy and i went to half price books. i was looking for a cheap copy of the catcher in the rye. not in the "required reading" section. not in general fiction. i give up and go look at the used cds. no flaming lips. this is beginning to look like a fruitless quest. then jimmy comes waltzing by and drops a copy of the jewel i'm seeking into the cd shelf i'm looking down at. "where'd you find this?!" "i have a way of finding things when others can't." score. thanks jimbo, you rule. so i walk out with a slightly worn copy of j.d. salinger's master work for a mere $2.50. not that freaking bad. and jimmy found the crystal cave for a buck. anyone remember that book?

then we came back to my apartment and watched shanghai knights. owen wilson is hilarious and jackie chan rules. it was funny but i still liked shanghai noon better.

on a final note, i'm thinking about visiting lubbock before i take off for ohio. maybe like getting in on sunday and staying til wednesday or so. hopefully that'll work.
