sick. i'm sitting here on the internet at my parents' house and the little opening to the attic shifts out of place and starts bowing like some animal or serial killer is trying to get out. logan grabs a louisville slugger and my mom says there's like a straight-line wind outside or something. i get closer with the bat and realize that a really strong wind has blown through the attic shifting the opening out of place. relieved that an alien isn't going to jump down on me and eat my face off, i prop it back in place with the bat and return (a bit shaken) to the computer.
other stuff...
i just watched episode 3 and 4 of band of brothers last night. so then i went to the library today to find some free stuff about ww 2. i checked out the book the moon is down by john steinbeck. i'm more than halfway through it cause it's pretty short, but it's really good. and super cool. steinbeck was involved in some govt. organizations that were precursors to the cia. he was commissioned to write a work of anti-nazi germany propaganda fiction. so this is it. it was printed on all these clandestine presses in nazi-occupied denmark, france, norway, etc... and served as encouragement to lots of anti-nazi resistance movements throughout europe. if you're interested in ww ii stuff, it's a good, short read.
also, i just watched amelie this weekend. so great, so brilliant, so hilarious. if you haven't seen it. i highly recommend it. though there are a couple scenes you might be uncomfortable watching with your parents. it's comedic though. if you liked tenenbaums i think you'd like this a lot.
okay, well...that's all for now. later days...
